New Central Library – City of Austin
The City of Austin’s New Central Library will be constructed in the developing area along West Cesar Chavez Street, commonly referred to as the Seaholm District. The new library will be approximately 250,000 s.f. and will replace the existing John Henry Faulk Central Library. The facility will also include a 250-space underground parking garage and outdoor landscaped area, as well as a 350-seat auditorium, meeting rooms, study rooms, a children’s program area, and a teen center. The New Central Library will be designed to achieve LEED® Silver Certification. Encotech will design the plumbing systems for the entire building, and will provide construction-phase Mechanical and Electrical services.
