Sustainable Design

 

Encotech is proud to be on the forefront of the green building design move­ment. The firm currently employs 2 LEED® Accred­ited Pro­fes­sion­als, and has participated in several history-making green design pro­jects.

Encotech provided MEP Engineer­ing ser­vices on Austin’s first build­ing to register for LEED® cert­ifica­tion, the Austin Resource Center for the Homeless (ARCH). The LEED® Silver Certified facil­ity features many sustain­able elements by Encotech, like the 13,000 gallon rainwater collection system, the passive solar hot water heating system, solar photovoltaic electrical collection system, and ventilation air energy recovery system. Encotech has worked on many facilities targeting various levels of sustainable design, including the following:

  • AISD LBJ High School Performing Arts Center — Austin Energy Four-Star Rating
  • City of Austin Zachary Scott Theatre — targeting LEED® Silver Certification

  • Austin Convention Center LEED® EB Retro-Commissioning — first City of Austin LEED® EB Project
