LBJ High School
Encotech designed the mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems for the 15,000 square foot Donald Haynes Performing Arts Center at LBJ High School. The 500-seat theatre achieved a four-star rating from the Austin Energy Green Building Program and incorporated sustainable design elements such as day lighting controls, an energy efficient envelope, insulated roof, improved indoor air quality, energy ventilation recovery system, energy efficient lighting, low-flow plumbing fixtures and low-emitting materials. Encotech was responsible for developing configurations, maintaining project budgets, all while adhering to a very aggressive schedule.
The project was broken into small phases so that work could be done in coordination with school classes and a construction manager-at-risk was hired to execute the construction phase. Close coordination between Encotech and the building team was required so that a fair guaranteed maximum price could be achieved.
